Quiet, which is good for class. But the textures are not that varied — three of the six feel almost the same. My students lost interest in them after a week. They do not make noise, I will give them that. Just not as engaging as I hoped for the price.

The textures are actually varied — ridged, bumpy, smooth — not just the same surface six times. Only reason it's not 5 stars is a couple of them feel a little small for my adult hands. Kids love them though. They're quiet, which is the main reason I bought them.
